Neal's Notes For January 2010

A fresh look at eye protection

Bollé Safety has added seven new styles to its prescription range including the B806, B807, B711 and B712 as well as an adaptor for the Tracker II and the unique “B Switch” system on the Urban and Slide. There are now twenty stylish frame styles to choose from plus prescription inserts for the Blast and Chrono goggles.

The prescription service is simple and straightforward to operate with a simple pricing structure. All our frame styles are the same price and there is no need to purchase vouchers “up front” - you are only invoiced after an employee has been fitted with their new prescription safety spectacles.

To make this service even easier Bolle has negotiated an exclusive agreement with both Boots Opticians and D&A Opticians. These offer a company reduced dispensing and eye test fees and all their stores have a sample set of our Bolle's most popular prescription frames for employees to choose from. But these are not the only opticians dealt with; employees can visit any optician anywhere in the country to get their Bollé Safety prescription safety spectacles dispensed.

Anna Chess's twenty year forced break from keyboarding checked by Maltron

Anna Chess has not been able to use a conventional flat keyboard for twenty years after suffering from full-blown RSI and has been forced to work in a reception role since then. Twenty years ago she was a skilled keyboard user but started to experience experienced most of the signs and symptoms of RSI - throbbimg pains in fingers, forearms, shoulders and neck even at rest- that resulted in visits to a Pain clinic, physiotherapy and acupuncture. She thought she would never use a keyboard again.

She purchased a computer and plugged in a Maltron dual-handed keyboard that she had actually known about for several years. Despite being “keyboard free” for twenty years, Anna adapted to the Maltron shape after intermittent operation for a few weeks by building up from a few sentences to several pages. When switching back to a conventional flat keyboard for a short period she experienced swollen arms immediately. Anna says “ I am now able to do a lot more at work and handle e mails so that I feel more included. The Maltron has made a massive difference to my life. Anyone with RSI should try one of these keyboards.”
