Manual Handling Hints
Recent research suggests that 600,000 people in Britain think that they have health problems caused through manual handling at work and the Legal industry must be loving it if you believe those TV ads which encourage litigation on a no-win no-fee basis. One way to inform workers on how to handle loads safely is to use the Safety Point poster entitled Manual Handling Safety Hints. In fact, over a quarter of all accidents reported each year to the HSE and to local authorities are associated with manual handling operations. Responsible companies will have already carried out a full assessment of many of its manual handling operations but there is still a need to continually remind workers of their responsibility when carrying out manual handling jobs.
